God:
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Trinity:
The Trinity is the representation of God, eternally existing in three persons (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit); these are equal in every divine perfection, and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. The Church:
The church universal is a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all Christ-followers are members. The local church is a community of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. The Ordinances:
The Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-5; I Corinthians 11:23-26
Church Cooperation:
Local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another. This church is operated in an independent manner and is led by a pastoral team with assistance from our deacons. We are completely autonomous from all other churches and organizations. We work in cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, North Carolina Southern Baptist Convention, and the Truett Association. Eternity:
Humans were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. John 3:16; I John 2:25; 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15
Salvation:
Salvation is a gift from God to humanity. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offering of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Eternal Security: Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
